The Philly Book Bank is a 501©3 non-profit organization located at Martin Luther King High School in Philadelphia, PA, providing books for children ages birth through high school. Books are selected and distributed in bulk through community events, placement in sidewalk libraries, and partnerships with private, governmental, and local organizations. The Philly Book Bank creates literacy-rich spaces by giving educators, community organizations, children, and families access to free, high-quality, culturally diverse children’s books. For 25+ years, the Philly Book Bank has been providing over 30,000 books annually.
The Philly Book Bank is supported by the generosity of individual, community, and corporate partners and the hard work of its many volunteers. Th Philly Book Bank is committed to raising a city of readers and providing Philadelphia's children with opportunities to find books to call their own.
